The residents of Haroon Bungalows, in Union Council 13, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town have demanded action against some Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) officials for harassing and misbehaving with subscribers in the pretext of electricity load checking.
Haroon Bungalows Welfare Association in an application sent to the managing director KESC, said an inspector of the utility visited the area for checking meters and electricity load at morning hours when men were not present at homes. They said women were harassed and compelled to pay bribes in the guise of load checking. Furthermore, they said that they had lodged repeated complaints in this regard but in vain. They demanded immediate action against the official involved in malpractice besides ensuring that load checking is carried out when male members are present at their homes.
