ISLAMABAD: Assistant Inspector General of Islamabad capital Territory police on Tuesday awarded two photojournalists of The Nation with certificates of performance for their efforts to highlight crime-related issues in Press.

AIG Sultan Azam Taimuri spoke highly of the works of photojournalists including The Nation’s chief photographer Javed Nasir and photojournalist Syed Medhi and awarded them certificates of best performance to encourage their work.

Capital territory police on Wednesday arranged a photo exhibition depicting the various aspects of police activities, especially their role in law and order situation, managing traffic affairs and contribution in rescue operation during the untoward situation.

The photo exhibition was formally inaugurated by the Taimuri at Pakistan National Council of Arts. The photographers working in various media organisations were asked to submit one picture each which was displayed in this exhibition.

The various photographs regarding the police activities whether of controlling law and order situation, providing assistance to the citizens in untoward situation and managing traffic in the city were mainly displayed in this exhibition.

SP (Traffic) Asmat Ullah Junejo, President Rawalpindi/Islamabad photojournalists Association (RIPJA) Sajjad Haider, members of Citizens Police Coordination Committees, Ufone representatives and other police officials were also present on the occasion.

Temuri said every picture in the exhibition has a sound message and it reflects the dedication of photographers.
