The Nation, Nawa-i-Waqt ads ban denounced
MIRPURMATHELLO, May 27, 2005: Local jouranlists have strongly condemned the government for imposing ads ban on The Nation and Nawa-i-Waqt, here on May 25.
A meeting chaired by journalist Tanveer Ahmed Soomro, described the advertisment ban on these prominent national dailies as an attempt to stifle the press freedom.
The participants said that ads ban had exposed the real face of the rulers, who had been claiming that the press is more free than before.
They urged the government to review its decision and lift ads ban immediately.
