Text of SC order on Wage Award
KARACHI-The Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued its order relating to the hearing held on May 7, 2003 of APNS constitutional petition No. 35 of 2002 against 7th Wage Board Award.
The bench of the Supreme Court consisted of Mr. Justice Sheikh Riaz Ahmed, Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Mian Muhammad Afzal and Mr. Justice Muhammad
Nawaz Abbasi. Mr. Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, Senior Advocate Supreme Court represented APNS, whereas Mr. Abid Hasan Minto, Mr. Muhammad Akram Sheikh, Mr. Zaheer Ahmed Bhutta senior Advocates of Supreme Court represented the respondents. Mr. Anwer Mansoor AG, Sindh and Raja Abdul Rehman, AAG, Punjab were also present. The order reads as under:
“Mr. Abid Hasan Minto Sr. ASC present in Court is unwell, whereas Mr. Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, Sr. ASC states that he would require at least three consecutive days to complete his arguments. Thus with consent of all the learned counsel and the AG, Sindh, we adjourn this case to 3rd of June, 2003. Office is directed to fix this case only, and the hearing would continue until its final disposal. Proceedings before the Tribunal would continue, but no coercive measures shall be adopted.”
