Talat, others back home

LAHORE: The Pakistani media men who were on board a Gaza-bound aid flotilla reached Lahore airport on Thursday evening.

The PIA flight carrying anchorperson Syed Talat Husain, producer Agha Raza and cameraman Nadeem Ahmad Khan home from Jordan was diverted from Islamabad to Lahore airport due to bad weather.

The three, along with around 700 social activists representing 44 countries, were on board the flotilla to cover the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gazans facing the worst kind of siege by Israelis for the last three years resulting in severe shortage of food and life-saving drugs.

But airborne Israeli commandos raided the aid vessels in international waters and shot down nine passengers besides injuring dozens of others, some of them seriously.

The uncalled for Israeli attack earned worldwide anger and condemnation.
