Summit increases Pakistan Television PTV’s viewership
ISLAMABAD- People are showing keen interest in the historic visit of President and Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf to New Delhi that is being viewed by international observers as the first significant step towards durable peace in the 54 years strained ties between the two nuclear neighbours of South Asia.
After the departure of President Musharraf to the Indian capital, people throughout the country have started watching several local and international channels that are showing live coverage of the visit, talks and other related events.
State owned Pakistan Television (PTV) has also started direct coverage of the visit and the live programmes of Star TV channel are being also shown on PTV and thus has increased its viewership considerably. People are also watching Zee News, BBC, CNN through cable facility. Public opinion is being given coverage in the print media.
Panels of experts and observers are also commenting on the relation between the two countries on PTV generating keen interest of the common people.
