SUKKUR: Journalists have condemned the attempt on lives of private TV channel KTN’s chief executive Ali Kazi and reporter Naz Sehto, here on Friday.

An emergency meeting was held at the Sukkur Press Club (SPC) on Friday, which was presided over by the club’s president Khawaja Jawed and participated by journalists belonging to the print and electronic media, cameraman and photographers.

The meeting demanded the government to immediately arrest of the culprits involved in the incident.

Khawaja Jawed said that it was the duty of the government to provide protection to the lives and properties of the people and to maintain law and order. SPC Secretary General and bureau chief of KTN Sukkur Jan Mohammad Mahar demanded the government to arrest the culprits behind the attack and award exemplary punishment to them. He said that before leaving for Naudero, Ali Kazi had informed all the district police administration between Hyderabad and Naudero about his departure, but he was attacked at Wagan district Larkana where there was no police mobile or police official present.

He demanded immediate suspension of high police officials of Qamber-Shahdadkot and Dadu and a high lever probe into the incident.

KTN CE Ali Kazi along with senior reporter Naz Sehto were on way to Naudero front Hyderabad on the midnight of Thursday and Friday to offer condolence with PPPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on the demise of Benazir Bhutto. When his car reached near Wagan, some unknown armed people opened fire on them. As a result Naz Sehto was injured, While Ali Kazi remained unhurt.
