Strike against journalist’s killing
KHAIRPUR: A complete shutter down strike was observed at Gambat against the murder of a TV reporter, Shaheed Ashiq Mangi on Monday. All the business centres, markets, shops remained closed. A big protest rally was took out from Phool Bagh Gambat to bypass National Highway and blocked it for four hours resulted traffic was remained suspended from both sides.
The protest was participated among other by Sindh United Party, Jeay Sindh Qaumi Muhaz, Shaheed Ashiq Tehrik committee, Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam, PML (F), GASTA, Primary Teachers Association, Gambat Samaji Ithad, Citizen Forum Gambat, Hindu Panchyat Committee and journalists.
The protesters led by Dr Fatah Memon, Safdar Saheto, Allah Dad Ujjan, Molana Gull Muhammad Memon, Ejaz Phulpoto, Abdul Latif Shaikh, Roshan Ali Malik, Yaseen Rajper, Ghulam Hussain Chang, Muhammad Dino Lakho, Muhammad Ramzan Phulpoto, Halleemullah Soomro, Ghaffar Mahar, Rashid Shaikh, Shafiq Khuhro, Hakim Bhatti, Idress Abbasi, Nasrullah Shaikh and others addressed the gathering.
They condemned the murder of journalist Ashiq Mangi and demand or the arrest of accused.
