Stop targeting Jang/Geo Group, govt told
RAWALPINDI: The Jang Supreme Council of CBA Unions and J&S Enterprises through a joint resolution have condemned hostile activities of the government against Jang/Geo Group and demanded of the government to stop targeting the Group. The resolution said all the employees of the Group will fight till last breath against this economic murder.
The meeting of Jang Supreme Council of CBA Unions and J&S Enterprises was held here Friday with its chairman Nasir Mehmood Chishti in the chair. Jang Employees Union, Karachi president Rafiq Bashir, general secretary Shakeel Yamin Kanga, Jang Printing Press Workers Union CBA president Muhammad Munir Khokhar, general secretary Muhammad Fayaz Gujar, Jang Employees Union, Quetta president Abdul Samad Mengal, general secretary Mian Muhammad Siddique, Jang Workers Union, Lahore president Rana Dildar Ahmed, general secretary S Babar Wasim, Javed Press and Modern Graphic Services Employees Union president Haji Muhammad Iqbal and general secretary Rana Muhammad Yousaf attended the meeting.
The meeting through a resolution condemned government tactics against Jang/Geo Group including creating hurdles in the broadcast of cricket World Cup matches on Geo Super. The resolution also called on the government to stop forthwith coercive acts as the workers of Jang Group from Khyber to Karachi are united and would never allow their economic murder.
Through another resolution, the management of Jang Group was asked to raise the salaries of the employees in view of the rising inflation and cost of living. Yet another resolution called for the implementation of the 7th Wage Board Award and constitution of 8th Wage Board Award forthwith.
