Special prosecutor to assist investigators
Zille Huma murder case
LAHORE – Provincial Minister for Law and Public Prosecution, Muhammmad Basharat Raja has directed Secretary Prosecution and Prosecutor General to depute a special prosecutor with the investigation team, engaged in investigation of brutal murder of Provincial Minister Zille Huma Usman. Special Prosecutor will provide technical assistance to the investigation team to avoid any lacuna in investigation from the point of view of trial.
According to an official hand out, the minister informed that the case had been registered against the accused under Anti-Terrorism Act and a joint investigation team of Intelligence Bureau and CID headed by SP Investigation Gujranwala had been carrying out investigation into the case.
He said challan of the case would be submitted to the ATA court for hearing within stipulated period and the court would be requested for hearing on daily basis so that the criminal could be awarded punishment as soon as possible.
He said a three-member team of expert criminal prosecutors would pursue the case in the court of law. He said accused Muhammad Sarwar had escaped from punishment in the past due to insufficient legal evidence.
