Smoking in TV talk show

Recently in a talk show, politician Sheikh Rashid was shown smoking. He threw smokes on the face of his host. Besides setting a bad example, he made the moderator to also succumb to passive smoking.

There is a ban on advertising on smoking because of its pervasive effects on the minds of the people especially the young people.

Publicly smoking on TV by leaders is clearly a violation of the initiative to curb the use of tobacco. The politician is requested to act responsibly while appearing in talk shows as they are supposed to be setting a good example by presenting themselves as role models.

The management of TV channels should also set some ground rules for the participants.
