Six more shot dead

Karachi Six people were gunned down in separate incidents in the city on Friday. Ghulam Ali, 27, was gunned down near Cement Hospital on Baghdadi Road in the morning. According to SHO Haji Sanaullah, deceased Ghulam Ali was a resident of Risala area and working as labourer at a betel nuts shop in Chabbah Gali. He was heading towards the shop when unidentified men shot him in the head. He was taken to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) where he breathed his last. He hailed from Bahawalpur, Punjab.

The family refused to lodge an FIR and left for their hometown for burial purposes. The family said they had no enmity with anyone. Rafiq alias Papu was gunned down near Ghausia Mobile Market, Khadda Market in the night. He had left home for some work when he indulged in a dispute with some people who opened fire on him and fled. He was taken to CHK where he was pronounced dead. Rafiqwas amember of Katchi community. Separately, Mohammed Idrees and Mohammed Ahmed were killed while three others were injured near Fahad Square, Scheme-33. SHO Azhar Iqbal said that the deceased were the residents of Kharadar and they had come to Scheme-33 to attend the funeral prayers of their uncle. They were about to leave for home in thewee hours of the day when armed men on motorcycle opened indiscriminate fire on them.

They were rushed to JPMC where Idrees and Ahmed succumbed to their injuries. Ubaid, who was fired upon and seriously injured in Bilal Colony on Thursday, breathed his last at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Ubaid along with his wife and a relative Hamza had gone to Alam Pride to purchase chicken rolls late Thursday night when they were fired upon. Meanwhile, the bullet-riddled body of an unidentified man, stuffed in a gunny bag, was found from Chawala Market stop, Nazimabad, in Rizvia police limits. It was shifted to ASH for postmortem. Mirza Waqar Hussain, a senior lawyer at City Courts and a resident of Rizvia Society, was fired upon and seriously injured in Jamshed Quarters police limits.

According to SHO Khushnood Jawed, Mirza Waqar advocate was heading towards City Courts in his vehicle with his driver in the morning and when hewas passing through Jamshed Road, four armed men, riding two motorcycles and wearing helmets, came across his vehicle and opened indiscriminate fire on Mirza Waqar. He was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital where his condition was stated to be critical. Police said it seemed to be an attempted target killing but they were investigating the matter with other aspects as well. Mohammed Farooqwas fired upon and seriously injured on A- 1 Road, Chisti Nagar, Iqbal Market police remit in the evening. He wasmoved to ASH where his condition was said to be critical.
