On April 30, Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon held separate meetings with delegations from the Sindh Newspapers Society and the Larkana Press Club to discuss and address challenges faced by the journalist community within the province.

A delegation from the Larkana Press Club, including Murtaza Kalhoro, Naveed Larik, Muneer Soomro, Abdul Qadir Jagirani, and Mashooq Odhano, outlined the specific issues experienced by journalists in the Larkana region. Senior Minister Memon pledged to work towards swift resolutions. He specifically vowed to resolve the problems faced by journalists in Larkana.

Representing the Sindh Newspapers Society, a delegation comprised of Qazi Shafiq Ahmed, Rizwan Shah, Ayub Pirzada, Naseem Sheikh, and Shahid Ansari met with Memon. They highlighted broader challenges faced by both media workers and press institutions in Sindh. The minister assured them that efforts were underway to address these concerns.

Memon emphasized the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the Sindh Government’s unwavering commitment to upholding freedom of expression. This commitment, he stated, aligns with the vision of former PPP chairperson Shaheed Benazir Bhutto,  President Asif Ali Zardari, and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He stressed the government’s ongoing efforts to resolve long-standing issues and pledged to work collaboratively with journalist organizations for solutions.
