Sindh Culture Day celebrated across province

SUKKUR: Sindh culture day was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm across Sindh on Sunday.Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani along with cabinet members attended the celebrations and they presented gifts of Ajraks and Sindhi caps to journalists and cameraman in Larkana.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that Sindh was rich in culture and tradition. He said that the revival of Sindh’s culture and tradition was good not only for the people of the province but also for the people of the country. He said that celebrations will promote social integrity, economic and cultural activities and people love Sindh and its traditions. Large rallies were taken out with participants wearing Sindhi caps and Ajrak. Tableau and traditional dance were the hallmark of these rallies. Rallies were taken out in Khairpur, Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Larkana, Sanghar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Tando Allahyar, Shahdadkot and other towns of Sindh. Political parties, including PPP, PML-F, PML-N and MQM, along with nationalist parties JSQM, JSM, STPP and others also celebrated the cultural day. People exchanged Sindhi caps and Ajraks with each other.

People also visited the shrines of Sufi saints including Bhittai and Sachal Sarmast. Poets and scholars through their poetry paid rich tribute to Sindh and said that Sindhi culture and traditions were ancient and people of Sindh were the guardians of Moenjodaro, Kot Diji Fort and other cultural heritages.
