Shaikh Rashid forecasts bright prospects for advertising
KARACHI- The Federal Minister for Information and Media Development, Shaikh Rashid Ahmed has said that the country was on the right track and in the right direction to achieve the desired economic growth and development.
The minister, who was addressing to PAA Excellence Award-2003 ceremony organised by Pakistan Advertising Association (PAA) on May 2nd 2003, forecast bright prospects for the profession of advertising. In the perspective of ever-increasing significance of publicity and marketing in almost all sorts of businesses and trades, he rejected the impression that the advertising profession had any imminent dangers or challenges in the future instead he suggested that despite all odds in other sectors this profession would continue to grow and keep on multiplying day by day.
He mentioned that the information ministry alone, envisaging handsome income to the advertising agencies, had allocated a hefty budget of seven billion rupees per annum for advertisements which were expended through these agencies.
He said that advertising was a field of talented and creative persons who came in it purely on merit basis. He appreciated the efforts of PAA and specially of S.H. Hashmi for the cause of the promotion of advertising profession in the country.
Earlier, Chairman PAA, S.H. Hashmi, highlighted the performance and achievements of the association and elaborated the objectives of conferring the excellence award. The Chairman, PAA Excellence Award, Mukhtar Ahmed Azmi also spoke on the occasion.
The awards were distributed under 19 categories of advertisement. The advertising agencies which were conferred the award under different categories and sub-categories, included: Orient McCann-Erickson, Big Bang Communication (Pvt) Ltd., Mass Advertising (Pvt) Ltd., Publicis Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd., Manhattan Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd., Synergy Advertising (Pvt) Ltd., Interflow Communication (Pvt) Ltd., Paragon Advertising (Pvt) Ltd., Adarts Karachi (Pvt) Ltd., Transworld Advertising (Pvt) Ltd., Adgroup (Pvt) Ltd., Bond Advertising (Pvt) Ltd., and Kimco Advertising (Pvt) Ltd.
