Session for journalists on climate change today

ISLAMABAD: Media persons belonging to print, broadcast and electronic media will take part in a daylong sensitisation session on the issue of climate change, today (Monday).

The session is hosted by Individualland Pakistan (IL) with the support of Freidrich Naumann Foundation (FNF). The objective of the initiative is to sensitise the media on this evolving phenomenon and to raise the bar of reporting on this important issue.

These sessions have already been conducted with journalists of Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan and Peshawar, and future sessions will be conducted in Abbottabad and Quetta. Individualland Pakistan (IL-Pakistan) is an active non-partisan, not-for-profit registered civil society group. Since its inception, IL has worked on pertinent issues in respect to governance, rule of law, media communication skills, strengthening civil society and democratic development. Strengthening Poverty Organisation (SPO) Chief Executive Naseer Memon will moderate the one-day event on behalf of Individualland Pakistan. Memon has more than 12 years of experience of working on environmental issues. Individualland Pakistan endeavours to take steps in this direction that will help create awareness among society on this issue through media personnel related with print, radio and TV.
