Senior newsman Mustafa Jaffery passes away
KARACHI- Mustafa Jaffery, a senior journalist and diplomat, died of a heart attack, he was 75.
Mr Jaffery received his education at Allahabad. He worked with the daily Pakistan Standard land the Pakistan Press International and edited Pakistan Sentinel and an evening daily in the fifties in Karachi. He later worked as a PRO with the Small Industries Corporation before joining the RCD in Tehran. He joined the foreign service in the early seventies and served as charge d’affaires at the Pakistan mission in Hong Kong and later as consular officer at Pakistan Embassy in Yangon. He leaves behind a son and a daughter. Soyem will be held at Markaz-i-Islami, Block B, North Nazirnabad, between Asr and Maghrib on Tuesday.
