Senior Journalist Syed Qamar-ud-Din Shah and Shahdadpur Press Club Founder Passed Away

On September 26, Senior journalist and long-time Nawa-i-Waqt correspondent Syed Qamar-ud-Din Shah passed away in Attock after a prolonged illness. He was in his late seventies and had been suffering from various ailments for the past few years.

Shah had been a correspondent for Nawa-i-Waqt for 35 years. Several prominent figures attended his funeral prayer, including former Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Functional Muslim League Faqir Muhammad Bakhsh Khaskheli, Pakistan Peoples Party leader Abdul Rahman Theem, former Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr. Abdul Majeed Chutto, Press Club Shahdadpur President Irshad Bukhari, President of Anjuman Tajiran Shahdadpur Alhaj Ghulam Dastagir Qureshi, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (Pakistan) Zonal Incharge Arif Sheikh, and Jamaat-e-Islami Shahdadpur Emir Asif Mahmood Qureshi.

He was laid to rest in the local graveyard.
