Senate body discusses National Cyber Security Council Bill
ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology on Monday discussed in detail the National Cyber Security Council Bill, 2014.
The committee, which met here at the Parliament House, was chaired by Senator Muhammad Idress Khan Safi. Senators Zahid Khan, Mohsin Leghari, Farhat Abbas, Sheral Malik, Hafiz Hamdullah and Abdul Qayoom Soomro attended the meeting.
Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rehman, Secretary of IT, Azmat Ali Ranjah, Chairman of PTA and Law Adviser Hamkim Warriach were also present on the occasion. The committee said that despite summoning, the secretary of law and justice did not turn up at the meeting.
Minister of State, Anusha Rehman, said that cyber security was not just an issue of Pakistan but would plan mechanism with other countries in this regard. She informed the committee that Pakistan had won the Executive Election in International Telecommunication Union with support of Pakistan Committee and Parliament.
The committee congratulated the minister for winning the Executive Election. The chairman of the committee, Muhammad Idress Khan Safi, said all the members of the body supported all the steps of the government which were in the interest of the country.
