Second Youth Festival opens today

Karachi: The second colourful Youth Festival 2010 will open here at the Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) on Sunday, which will continue till Nov 24.

The Sindh Youth Affairs Department is holding the annual contest in collaboration with the Arts Council of Pakistan where the youth will show their talent in final contests for 11 categories.

Minister for Youth Affairs, Syed Faisal Ali Sabzwari, will inaugurate the mega event which includes competitions of painting, photography, debate, short films, singing, mural painting, fashion/textile designing on November 21.

On November 22, “bait bazi” contest, calligraphy competition and “workshop on youth” will be held at Manzar Akbar Hall, A R Gallery and Theatre Auditorium.

Theatre competition, film screening, open discussion and battle of the bands will be held on November 23 at theatre auditorium, Manzar Akbar Hall and Sabzazar. Dialogue with legends will also be held from November 21 to 23. The prize distribution ceremony will be held on 24, at Theatre Auditorium where Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad will be the chief guest.
