SC provides relief in human rights case
ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, took notice on a press report, carrying an appeal of Mst Naila Naz, resident of Rawalpindi.
The news item revealed that land mafia dispossessed her from her house with the help of police. She appealed to the chief justice of Pakistan to provide her justice. A report was called from the PPO, Punjab. The case was heard by a three-member bench of the apex court, headed by the chief justice. The court disposed of the case on the assurance of the lessee of the land that on humanitarian grounds, he would not dispossess the applicants from the two rooms which they are presently occupying.
