SC calls report on displaying banned Indian channels
KARACHI: The Supreme Court has taken notice of the reports of broadcast of banned Indian recreational TV channels during the Eid holidays. These channels included Star Plus, Sony, Colors and others that have been displaying recreational programmes.
The Supreme Court Registrar on the complaint of a number of people in this regard requisitioned report from the Pemra and other relevant government quarters.
Earlier, Pemra had advertised in national dailies asking the general public to honour and implement the SC ban of these Indian channels.
It is to mention here that Pemra last month had banned the broadcasting of such Indian channels that had not registered them with the Pemra.
