Safety Training Workshop for Bloggers and human rights defenders.
Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) invites applications for a three-day security training workshop in Lahore from bloggers and human rights defenders. The training will include sessions on physical, digital and psychosocial security.
A look at the changing landscape of threats to freedom of expression shows that the threats are increasingly becoming more sophisticated. Where once physical threats were predominant, now digital threats and intimidation through other means is leading to self-censorship of the press and of civil society actors. The holistic training is designed to develop skills of the participants to secure themselves in each of these different kinds of threats, enabling them to perform their democratic function in a safer manner.
The first three workshops was held in Karachi and fourth workshop from February 25-27th 2021 in Lahore. We are now accepting nominations for the fifth workshop scheduled for July 10-12th in Lahore. All expenses related to participation in the workshop will be covered by Pakistan Press Foundation.
The deadline for receiving CVs from those interested in participating in the fifth training workshop in Lahore is Sunday, June 20, 2021.
