Rs 20m seed money for Sindh IT Board

KARACHI- Sindh Governor Muhammadmian Soomro has announced a seed money of Rs 20 million for the Sindh Information Technology Board.

Presiding over a meeting to consider the reports of various expert groups set up for promotion of Information Technology the Governor said that all Secretaries and other senior officers would require to have computer literate in their offices. Computer literacy is compulsory for all senior officials,” he asserted.

The Board approved a number of steps for leap frogging of IT in the province using, its vocational advantage and IT training base. It was decided that IT training of world standard would be provided in each district of the province, even in the rural areas.

A committee was set up to make specific proposals for quick implementation sending projects to the Federal government and to acquire accommodation in an appropriate environment near the software park. It was decided that Federal Minister for Science and Technology would be invited to the next meeting of the Board.
