Right to Information Act: Experts urge early implementation
LAHORE: The Punjab government believes in Transparency and will ensure that all citizens have the right to access to information and in this regard the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act will go a long way in addressing the problems of masses.
Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Khalil Tahir Sindhu said this while addressing a ceremony organized by an NGO Development Environment Legal Aid, Technical Support & Advocacy Association (Delta).
The minister said that right to information is considered a basic right which has been provided to the people of more than 95 countries.
He said that through the above act, masses can hold government officers and public representatives accountable. President Delta Nazli Sardar said that the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act 2013 is a powerful law and it should be implemented effectively.
