Riaz Batalvi passes away
LAHORE- Renowned feature writer Riaz Husain Batalvi died here on January 15, 2003 afternoon. He was 66.
He remained associated with defunct daily Mashriq for decades and earned popularity for writing features on social issues. He had been a columnist of daily Insaaf and looking after the affair of Punjab Post before his death.
Batalvi is survived by a wife and three sons. He will be laid to rest at Mominpura graveyard. Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool and Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi have expressed deep grief over the death of Riaz Batalvi.
In separate messages, they paid rich tributes to the late Mr. Batalvi for his services in journalism and offered condolences to the family.
