LAHORE: Minister for Tourism Rana Mashhood Khan inaugurated exhibition ‘Rediscovering Harappa: through five elements; water, earth, fire, air, etc’ at Lahore Museum yesterday.
The five-month exhibition will conclude on April 21.

US Council General Lahore Zachary Harkenrider, archeologists, intellectuals, thinkers and people from all walks of life participated in the ceremony. The exhibition comprises Indus pottery from the Lahore Museum’s own collection to make Harappa civilization accessible to a diverse audience.

The management is also arranging Inheriting Harappa Lecture Series to promote intellectual exchange and dialogue between academics, researchers, field professionals, museum curators and cultural policy makers. The lecture series is an interactive forum for people from all walks of life. The lecture series has been thematically structured and touches upon various facets of the Indus Valley Civilization, so that audience may take away a holistic understanding of Harappa.

The specific themes are: Chronologies, Regionalism and Trade, Craft Technologies, Script, Iconography, Symbolism, Interpreting Cultural Roots and Identity and Knowledge Networks.
Workshop: Punjab University Centre for Clinical Psychology (CCP) organized one day workshop on “The science of Empowerment” in which trainee from ADCP and MS in Clinical Psychology participated. Dr Oskan Mehmedagi from UK was the resource person who extended his knowledge among the trainees. Later, Director CCP Prof Dr Rukhsana Kausar extended her gratitude to the resource person for sparing his precious time to disseminate his expertise to the participants.

Separately, a the welcome party hosted in the honor of newly-admitted students of Hailey College of Commerce at its lawns. Principal HCC Prof Dr Hasan Mobeen Alam, Hailey College of Banking and Finance’s Principal Prof Dr Mobashar Munawar Khan, Secretary Academic Staff Association Dr Mahboob Hussain, faculty members and a large number of students attended the function. Speaking on the occasion, PU VC Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran said that the forces who wanted to rule the world are behind the recent Paris attack and 9/11.
