Rauf Tahir journalistic services would be remembered forever: Shehbaz Sharif
LAHORE: PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Mian Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday visited the house of late Rauf Tahir, Senior Journalist and Columnist.
Shahbaz Sharif offered condolences and Fateha to the sons of late Rauf Tahir.
PMLN President paid glowing tributes to the veteran journalist, adding that Rauf Tahir was a bright star of the universe of journalism and his journalistic services would be remembered forever. His contribution in the field of journalism will be remembered.
The minister said that Rauf Tahir was a unique writer having a distinct style.
Shehbaz prayed that may Almighty Allah rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant sustenance to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity.
Former President of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) and senior journalist and columnist Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami was also present on the occasion.
Senior journalist Rauf Tahir passed away in Lahore due to cardiac arrest.
Renowned columnist Rauf belonged to Bahawalnagar. He was a true democrat and believed in the supremacy of the constitution.
