Rape victim avoiding press
January 08,2005.A lady doctor who was reportedly gang-raped in a hospital in Balochistan is alive.
She has reportedly been brought to Karachi, but her whereabouts could not be known despite repeated efforts The Secretary General of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Karachi, Dr Qasier Sajjad, said. That the PMA was tring to locate the family of the victim lady doctors, but so far they had not succeeded.
He appealed to the doctor’s family that they should contact the PMA so that it could help them get justice. He said the PMA contacted the Sui filed hospital where the lady doctor worked. Dr Amjed from Sui informed that she was out of danger and said he sid not know whether she was subjected to rape and he also said he did not have her phone number, Dr Sajjad said. The family of the lady doctor was being threatened to keep away from te press and doctors. Associations, the sources added.
