Rape case – SHO asked to protect family

SHEIKHUPURA, April 12,2005: The district and sessions judge on Monday ordered the War burton SHO to provide security to the family of the nine-year-old girl raped allegedly by the district Nazim’s son.

The judge issued the order on a writ petition filed by Mazhar Yaseen, the brother of the girl. The petitioner submitted that accused Moazzam Virk was threatening his family with dire consequences.

After an assurance by the SHO that he would provide full protection to the aggrieved family, the court disposed of the writ.

In another writ petition filed in the court of additional district and sessions judge, Yaseen submitted that his mother, Haleema Bibi, father Ali Sher and sister were in the custody of the accused.

The SHO informed the court that no such incident had been brought to the police notice. Later, the court fixed April 13 as the next date of hearing.
