Rape case after months
SAHIWAL, January 22 2006: On the orders of the Chichawatni additional district and sessions judge, the Saddar police on Friday January 21 registered a gang-rape case after over three months of the incident.
According to reports, a woman went to market at Chak 39/12 on the evening of Oct 20 last year when a shopkeeper, Rafiq, dropped the shutters and together with Abdul Ghafoor and Fazlu raped her.
The victim tried to lodge a complaint with the police, but all her efforts ended in smoke. Subsequently, she filed a writ petition with the court of additional district and sessions judge who ordered registration of a case.
The case has been lodged under section 10(3) of the Hudood Ordinance.
