Raise in ‘unattractive area’ allowance urged

A member Razaullah Nohrio pointed out in a resolution that the Sindh government had allowed 15 per cent pay raise as ‘unattractive area allowance’ with effect from July 1, 1987, to the public servants serving in unattractive areas of Mithi, Umerkot, Chhachhro and Nagarparkar talukas of Tharparkar district, desert area of Khipro taluka and Mahal Kohistan of Dadu district.

The government employees in BPS-1-15 were getting only Rs75 per month as unattractive area allowance whereas those in BPS-16 were getting Rs125 per month and the officers in BPS-17 and above were receiving just Rs200 a month, Mr Nohrio said.
embers Allah Warayo Bajir, Guman Singh, Kirshan Lal and Ali Mohammad, too, demanded raise in the allowance according to basic pay scale of 2007.The council passed the resolution.
