Radio employees seek permanent jobs

LARKANA: Contractual employees of Radio Pakistan took out a procession here on Wednesday to press the government for regularisation of their jobs.

Many among them are working since the inception of this station in 1995 by Benazir Bhutto, said protesting employees. They told journalists that Prime Minister had announced regularisation of their jobs in 2008 but nothing substantial could be gained till today.

Only seven out of 32 people working at radio station are confirmed though the PC-I submitted by the administration had recommended appointment of 105 employees, they said.

Hundreds of employees of other departments have been regularised but not of Radio Pakistan, they added. They appealed to prime minister to order regularisation of their jobs.
