‘Race for Rating and Pakistani TV Channels’ at NCA
LAHORE: The National College of Arts (NCA) Archives Department organised a lecture titled “Race for Rating and Pakistani TV Channels” at the college auditorium on Monday.
Known journalist Sohail Warriach was the speaker on the occasion, who enlightened the participants about the process of measuring rating of TV channels. He said that although media had become industry but its duty was just to give awareness to the people.
He, however, said that media did not have role of a leader and the expectations from it as a leader were not right. He said that the duty of the media was to communicate different views about any issue. He said that fortunately Pakistani media remained successful in presenting truth. He further said that it was high time that every citizen should come out and play his due role for the development and betterment of the country.
Earlier, NCA Principal Dr Murtaza Jafri while welcoming the guest speaker said that keeping in the view the importance of the media, the college has organized this lecture for the students for developing their understanding about the working of media. Later, Dr Jafri also presented a painting to the guest.
