Punjab Information Department and RUDA sign MOU for journalists plots
The Punjab Information Department and the Ravi Urban Development Authority (Ruda) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to transfer land for the allotment of residential plots to 3,200 journalists in Lahore, an initiative announced by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The MoU was signed by Secretary Information Syed Tahir Raza Hamdani and Ruda CEO Imran Ameen.
Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari, on the occasion, said the project represents the first time in Punjab’s history that plots will be allocated to 3200 journalists purely on merit,adding that the process for Phase-II of the Journalists Housing Scheme would be completed in the coming days.
“All plots will be allotted strictly on merit, and no recommendations will be accepted in this regard,” Bokhari emphasized. She also announced the resolution of issues related to F Block under the directives of the chief minister.
Application forms for the housing scheme are now available. Council members of the Lahore Press Club can collect forms from the press club, while non-council members can obtain them from the Directorate General Public Relations (DGPR) office in Lahore.
