PTA urged to withdraw decision
KARACHI- Internet Service Providers Association of Pakistan (ISPAK) has urged the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to withdraw its earlier decisions to block some Internet sites and content filtration. This was stated by ISPAK Secretary V. A. Abidi in a statement here September 4.
He said these demands were made by an ISPAK delegation who met PTA Chairman Gen. (Retd) Shahzada Alam Malik during his visit here on September 3.
The ISPAK expressed thanks to the PTA chairman for giving serious consideration to their ISPAK’s demand.
The ISPAK has also demanded for regulating the Internet operators on cable. They should be asked to obtain licenses and pay the due revenue to the government and should take bandwidth from DNOP or PTCL in a proper and legal manner.
