Protest rally held against torturing of newsman

SHAHDADKOT- The city literary circles and activists of different political parties took out a protest rally to condemn the torturing of a poet and journalist Zameer Kharal by District Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shahdadkot police.

Hundreds of poets, lecturers, workers of political parties and social welfare organizations including Sindhi Adabi Sangat, Shahdadkot Journalists Alliance, Jeay Sindh Quami Mahaz, JSO, Youth Citizens Alliance, JSSF, Naujawan Samaji Forum, Electrician Association, Piral Kambar Adabi Wing, Insan Hamdard Sangat, Khaksar Tehreek, Bolan Cultural wing, Sindh Tarraqi Passand Party and others participated in the protest rally.

The speakers while addressing the participants of the rally at SDM park said that DSP Shahdadkot and Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) tortured Zameer Kharal without any reason and threatened him of dire consequences for filing news about their corrupt practices.

They demanded of the Sindh Governor and IGP Sindh to take cognizance of the situation and action against the police officials. The rally also visited token hunger strikers regard.
