Protest rally held against killing of journalist

SUKKUR: Life in the Khuhra town came to a halt on Sunday when a large number of people, including journalists, businessmen and political activists, took part in a rally to register their protest against the murder of Chief Editor Daily Nijjat Makhdoom Mohammad Rafiq. Reports said the business community expressed their grief over the killing of senior journalist, who was shot dead by some unknown persons on Saturday morning, by shutting down their shops and all business centres, due to which the town gave a desert look throughout the day. People belonging to different walks of life, mainly from the press and political and social forums, gathered to hold a protest rally against the killing. Activists of the PPP, the PPP-Shaheed Bhutto, the JSQM, the SNF, the JSSF, the SPSF and the Sindh Shahree Ittehad participated in the rally.
