Protest held against ‘abduction’ of journalist
KARACHI: The Karachi Union of Journalists on Thursday held a demonstration outside the Supreme Court’s Karachi Registry against the ‘abduction’ of senior journalist and columnist Waris Raza who was taken away allegedly by law enforcers from his home and released after several hours.
Mr Raza also attended the rally. The KUJ demanded action against those responsible for the detention.
The media people urged the chief justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of the incident. The protesters also asked the top judge to help prevent ‘continuous attacks’ on journalists in the country.
