Protection of human rights urged
Islamabad (PR) – On the directions of Minister of State, Capital Administration & Development Division Dr Tariq Fazal Ch, a seminar on ‘International Human Rights Day and Our Social Responsibilities’ was organized by National Council of Social Welfare, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad, in connection with celebration of International Human Rights Day being observed worldwide in light of UNO Resolutions.
Lectures were given by the representatives of both public and private sectors by the prominent intellectuals on the protection of human rights. In his presidential address Dr Nadeem Shafiq Malik, Chairman, National Council of Social Welfare, said that without following human rights no society will survive.
“It is our social responsibility to respect emotions and thinking of everyone.
The constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan is in accordance with the religious injunctions and guarantees fundamental rights to its citizens.”
He added it is the commitment of the Government of Pakistan to protect the rights of the people as insured in the constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. “Being responsible citizens, it is our collective responsibility to change our social behaviour.
The government of Pakistan is also aware its international responsibilities being a signatory of the international declaration of human rights.”
