Projects worth Rs4.5bn would bring revolution’

He said these projects would be completed by the end of 2007, and after that Karachi would be included in the developed cities of the world.
While addressing a press conference, he said with the completion of these projects the problem of water and sewerage system in the industrial area would be resolved for the next 50 to 100 years and Karachi has vast potentials and the expected investment of billions of dollars in future would have a direct impact on the socio-economic condition of the people of the country.
The ratio of export from Karachi remained the highest this year, which had helped in creating more job opportunities. Kamal said for the safe passage of waste and chemicals from industries, modern pipes have been imported from Dubai.
He said during the current financial year the work on extra 3 mgd water supply to Gulistan- e Jauhar would be completed this year.

Meanwhile, City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal said on Sunday that he had apprised the federal government, through Sindh governor, of the forthcoming power crisis in summer season in Karachi. Kamal said he has also asked the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation officials to evolve a comprehensive strategy in this regard so that the power crisis did not get worse in the coming days.
