Proceedings of Wage Board adjourned for 35 days

ISLAMABAD- The proceedings of the 7th Wage Board have been adjourned for 35 days in view of the request by newspaper owners. The next meeting of the Board will be held at Lahore on October 3. The first meeting of the Wage Board for the Newspapers Employees which held in the Ministry of Labour was chaired by Justice Raja Afrasiab Khan.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the newspapers employees, including the APNEC Chairman Abdul Hameed Chhapra, PFUJ President 1.H. Raashed, APNEC Secretary General Pervez Shaukat, PFUJ Senior Assistant Secretary General Abdullah Jan and former President of Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) Majid Fouz. Representatives of the newspaper owners body APNS did not attend the meeting. Nevertheless they have requested the chairman to grant them 30 day time.

Chairman of the Board, Justice Raja Afrasiab Khan, also directed the officers concerned to prepare agenda for the next meeting immediately. Senior officers of the Ministry of Labour also attended the meeting.
