Problems faced by marine life highlighted
HYDERABAD: Experts at a seminar highlighted the problems faced by marine life.
They were speaking at the one-day event held on Wednesday on the “Present Status of Wetlands of Sindh”, organised by the Fresh Water Biology, the fisheries department and University of Sindh in collaboration with the Sindh wildlife department and Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (Sepa).
Prof Dr Mohammad Siddique Kalhoro, acting vice chancellor of the University of Sindh, was chief guest on the occasion.
Dr Mohammad Yar Khuhawar, Prof Dr Wazir Ali Baloch, chairman of the host department, Mohammad Moazzam Khan of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Pakistan, Saeed Akhtar Baloch, wildlife conservator, Khawar Pervaiz, director hatcheries of the Sindh fisheries department and G.M. Mahar, director general of fisheries, shed light on marine life which is facing various problems. They said that a comprehensive management plan should be prepared to reslove them.
