Private TV, radio channels may be allowed
ISLAMABAD: The Chief Executive, General Pervez Musharraf Sunday said that media forms an integral part of statehood in this era of information and that he was a firm believer in the freedom of the Press.
Addressing the nation on Radio and Television, Gen. Musharraf said, he had great regard and respect for the media; “I trust it to play a positive and constructive role.”
“I am a firm believer in the freedom of the press and am even considering to liberalize the policy on the establishment of private television and radio channels,” he said.
