Private TV channel misreported PIA incident
Karachi, April 03 PPI: A private TV channel misreported an incident related to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Dubai-bound flight PK-213 that left Karachi on April 1 early morning.The channel has reported smoke coming out of the aircraft and the clip showed a Boeing 747 whereas the aircraft in reference was A130.The Smoke Detection System of the Airbus A130 aircraft activated soon after take off and pilot landed back as per procedure.
Ground check, however, found the warning as false.It may be pointed out that the smoke detectors are very sensitive and can activate in the absence of heat or smoke, even with dust, humidity, or odour.
