PPP pays tribute to Majid Nizami

LAHORE: The PPP leaders on Monday commended Editor in Chief, The Nation, Majid Nizami for his positive contribution to the promotion of democracy in the country, and for his courage to call a spade a spade.

At a seminar on ‘Journalistic Values and Democracy’, PPP leader Usman Saleem Malik said that Majid Nizami gave a bold statement in four of Asif All Zardari declaring him as ‘Mard-e-Hurr’ in recognition of the courage with which Zardari stood against a dictator.

‘Though the statement incurred displeasure of PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif who also complained with Majid Nizami about his statement, but he called a spade a spade and told him that he left the country during Musharraf’s while Asif Zardari preferred to remain in jail’, the PPP leader added.

Other PPP leaders and party Workers present on the occasion also seconded the statement of Usman Saleem Malik and highlighted the services of Majid’ Nizami.
