PPF workshop for journalists in early March
KARACHI (PPI): Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) in collaboration with the Thompson Foundation UK and the common wealth Media Development Fund will organize a two week workshop for journalists in Karachi from March 8, 1999 on news and feature writing with an emphasis on covering issues relating to gender, minorities and human rights.
The object of the workshop is to encourage participants to write more and better stories about women, children disabled people and other minority or disadvantaged groups. The Cardiff-based Thompson Foundation is the leading international organisation for training journalists.
The participants will discuss how the news agenda can grow to produce better coverage and better coverage and better stories of social issues. What are these issues in Pakistan and how the newspapers tell these stories. The participants will attend a open forum on press in Pakistan.
