PPF organizes security training for journalists

Islamabad: Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) organized an Advanced Security Training for Journalists on September 25-28, 2013 in Islamabad.

Training was attended the journalists of Balochistan province, KPK and South Punjab. It focused on first-aid, safety and security of journalists. Trauma awareness, stress and risk management was also included in the training.

Journalists were told how they should work in dangerous areas maintaining their own security. Risk management and awareness of threats is must in this profession. They were told about the importance of first aid in the field of journalism.

Trainer was Syed Tahir Mehmood and participants included Hussain Afzal, Mirza Arif , Liaquat Ali Gola, M.Usman Ghani, Abdul Bashir, Arif Mehmood, Karim Jan Mullazai, Khail Mohammad, Tariq Rafiq, Syed Tahir Ali, Sardar Bangulzai, Aziz Lasi and Amir Muhammad Afghan, while Dur-e-Shahwar was the workshop coordinator.
