PPF condemns the brutal murder of Honduran journalist
Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF), in a letter to Juan Orlando Hernandez, President of Honduras has expressed deep concern over the murder of Honduran journalist, Leonardo Gabriel Hernández.
PPF Secretary General Owais Aslam Ali has strongly denounced the brutal murder of Hernández and urged the government and concerned authorities of Honduras to thoroughly investigate and hold the perpetrators responsible behind this act.
According to the Comité por la Libre Expresión – (C-Libre), Hernández, host of the program “El Pueblo Habla” (The People Speak) on private channel, Valle TV was on his way to home on March 17, when unidentified armed men stopped and shot him around seven times, leaving him dead.
Hernández, who was also the correspondent of Radio Globo of Tegucigalpa, used to criticize the local politicians and highlighted the wrongdoings in the mayor’s office.
The journalist had also asked for the safety because of threats against him, but he was not provided security.
