Positive role by electronic, print media welcome: Shazia
LARKANA: Sindh Minister for Information Shazia Mari on Saturday said the present government believes in freedom of press and a positive role by electronic and print media will be welcomed.
She said this while talking to a group of newsmen on Saturday at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto, which she visited in the leadership of Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah along with other Sindh Cabinet members.
The Minister said all out efforts will be made for the welfare of journalists’ community in the province and problems of the media-persons will be resolved. She suggested that the media besides enjoying freedom of press should also realise the responsibilities and point out real problems. She said the federal government has done home- work on some sections of PEMRA Ordinance for the good of the journalists’ community so that journalists may be able to write or telecast freely.
Sindh Home Minister Zulfikar Mirza also talked on the occasion saying the law and order situation in the province would be improved at all costs and the criminals be dealt with strictly.
He said all out efforts will be made to control the crime at grass root level. Justice will be provided to the people of the province without any discrimination, he added.
